Vintage Wheel Horse Trailblazer 7 snowblower -First start

I got this from my neighbor last week, it had been sitting for 4 years. The carb was literally falling off, but after we found that and tightened it, she started right up with a squirt of starter fluid and one pull. In fact, this motor runs better than most newer Tecumsehs I've used! He mentioned something about a belt, obviously the belt that drives the impeller is stretched. you push the primer when u pull the engine over with the choke on and it sucks the gas through mechanicly

Just amazing how these old small engines will fire up and run well after sitting all that time. My neighbors blower is about 25 years old and I don’t even think he has ever replaced the plug! Sits outside year round and yet fires up and works like a trooper when it snows… Amazing machines!

she runs good for a old girl… its a long way from our snowblower… lol we use a newer (couple years old maybe) 13hp self propelled walk behind, with power chute, heated hand grips. had a big rock (like 8″ wide by 14″-16″ long and 2″ inch thick) caught between the blades and the bottom.. it was a bitch trying to get the outta there.. have you ever seen llama shit go through a snowblower?? its like pebbles in a coffee can.. its friggin funny!!!

There’s no way I can give away something that big that runs. I don’t have the kind of money to give stuff I paid for away. Sorry.

  9. LynolsOffice says:

That’s a lot to ask for free. Something that big is usually worth a couple hundred running.

That was before the new auger belt was put it, it’s going so slow because the belt was slipping the whole time. You can even see when it first started, it slipped so much the auger wouldn’t even move.

  13. stlouissux9119 says:

Sure looks like you need to adjust the speed at which the auger spins.

keep it! my grandpa has 2 old ariens and a gilson! they all work better than the new junkers!

  15. LynolsOffice says:

Yeah I still have it. After more than a year, I FINALLY got enough snow to try it out last week for the first time, works pretty good.

  16. 1944johndeerel says:

you still have this? it seems like a nice old machine!

  20. alterman156 says:

If it snows in your area this coming winter, take a video of your snow blower blowing the snow.

  21. lovemyrv says:

sure runs smooooth nice old machine :)

  22. LynolsOffice says:

The oil was good enough to use for 3 minutes, but I changed it after and got it ready for snow season. (and it didnt snow at all!)

  23. spitgalore says:

You are a lucky guy to own such an antique that still runs. Please change the engine oil before the snow flies. After so many years of non-use, the oil should have been changed before the “first start”.

  24. dragster0418 says:

are all bearrings ok on it

  25. LynolsOffice says:

Your quite right. A friend of ours said something along those lines. I don’t know if it helps or not, but it starts fast everytime.
